Clarification: The story was correct, but the headline was wrong in the article regarding South Bend School Superintendent Dr. Robert Zimmerman. He was not fired; he is still the superintendent. He will remain on the job until the school corporation attorneys work out the terms of his contract buyout and he accepts them.

Candidates Split Primaries; Obama Clinches Nomination: Barack Obama won in Montana and lost in South Dakota Tuesday but he received enough delegates before the Montana polls closed to clinch the Democratic nomination for president.

The Illinois senator becomes the first African-American presidential nominee for a major party.

Obama’s remaining rival, Hillary Clinton, had still not conceded.

Creative Writing: Starts June 12. Thursday nights, 6-7 p.m.; open to everyone.

ABE Incentives: Students will be given a card to be initialed during each walk-in class attended. Once a student has attended 10 walk-in programs, cards can be redeemed for prizes. Currently the prize is free ice cream.

Submit a poem to any staff member in the ABE room and it may be published in the next ABE Newsletter. Also, we will hopefully start another Poetry Jam in the Fall; let us know if you are interested

▪The Write Stuff: Are you the only person who can read your handwriting? Come join us on Tuesday afternoons from 2-3 p.m. to learn writing that will look great on job applications, love letters, and everything else. Class starts May 6. Sign up in ABE.

▪Writing: Wednesdays, 3-4 p.m., ABE. Improve your basic writing skills under the guidance of a trained instructor.

Lugnuts 5, Silver Hawks 2: The host Silver Hawks (24-33) lost their third in a row and 10^th in 11 games to the Lugnuts.

The Lugnuts scored four runs off reliever Josh Blake (0-1) in the sixth inning on four hits, a walk, and a wild pitch.

The Hawks scored had taken the lead in the third inning on two runs. Elijah Rumler singled in a run and Evan Frey—who had reached base on a single—came home on a ground out.

Frey and Derrick Walker had two hits each for the Silver Hawks.

Jordan Norberto had pitched well in his five innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, two walks, and striking out seven.

The final game of the series is tonight at the Cove; game time is 7 p.m.

The Hawks start a four-game series at Dayton Thursday before returning to the Cove Monday.

NBA Finals: Celtics host Lakers Thursday in first game at 9 p.m. on ABC (57).

Trainers Say Big Brown’s Hoof Not a Concern: Big Brown’s hoof has held up strong in workouts this week and no blood has been spotted.

The undefeated three-year-old will try to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win racing’s Triple Crown Saturday at Aqueduct. He will run in the Belmont Stakes with an acrylic patch on his left front hoof.
