Announcements

Do Not Forsake This: “Man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.” See Coop (Gary Cooper) do what he’s gotta do in the classic film “High Noon” today at 2 p.m. in the Community Room.

The cast includes Coop, Grace Kelly, Harry Morgan, and Lloyd Bridges with Tex Ritter (father of actor John Ritter) singing the famous theme song. Lee Van Cleef is a member of Frank Miller’s gang, just to show you what Coop is up against.

There will be a presentation before the screening about the documentary film genre and an open discussion about the film following the screening.

Qi-Gong: Mondays, 1-2 p.m., in the Community Room. All are welcome.

New CFH Exercise Room Hours: Monday and Wednesday, 1-3 p.m.; Monday-Friday, 6-8 p.m. (women 6-7 p.m., men 7-8 p.m.).

Water Park Open: The children’s courtyard is open again but the water park east of CFH is still a cool alternative during these dog days of Summer.

Go east on Sample Street to Fellows Street by the Boys and Girls Club. Turn south. The park is on the south side of the YWCA. The water park is on the east side of the park.

Just a few notes concerning the Children’s Courtyard/AKA Our Back Yard: 1) Families should refer to their copy of the playground rules in order to make sure they are always in compliance; 2) Absolutely NO SMOKING in this yard! We have been finding evidence of smoking and it will not be tolerated!; 3) Always clean up your messes. Put toys away and pick up trash; 4) New Back Yard hours begin September 1. Children may gain access at 4 p.m.

Silver Hawks Tickets: All ticket requests must go through the Development Department. In addition, the Silver Hawks are unable to accommodate requests on short notice. If a guest is interested in attending a game he/she should contact his/her coach who will then contact the Development Department.

Voter Registration: There will be someone on hand to register voters Mondays at 6 p.m., either in the men’s lounge or the Community Room.
