South Bend, Indiana; October 30, 2008

Announcements

Halloween Party (18-22-year-olds only): October 31; 3 p.m.-6 p.m.; in the newly-remodeled resilience room.

We will have food provided by Jersey Mikes and watch a scary movie! If you have any suggestions for the movie or any questions please see Erin.

Adult Halloween Party: Friday, 3 p.m., in the CFH Dining Room. Appetizers, games, and fun. Come as your favorite superhero or villain.

Something To Sink Your Teeth Into (or to sink its teeth into you): The poster didn't specify whether the version of "Nosferatu" shown October 31at 2 p.m. in the Community Room will be the original 1922 silent German version (that creature of the night was downright creepy, but then isn't that the way a vampire is supposed to be. If they all looked like David Boreanz (Angel), Brad Pitt or Kirsten Dunst people would be wanting to get their necks bitten) or the 1979 low-budget German remake directed by Werner Herzog.

The 1922 silent movie, directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schreck, borrowed its plot from Bram Stoker's "Dracula" but since the studio didn't own the rights the vampire's name was changed to Nosferatu and the count's name was changed from Dracula to Orlok.

Art: Try out your creativity, Sundays, any time from 2-4:30 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room.

Qi-Gong: Qi-Gong will be in recess from October 20-November 3. It will resume its regular schedule November 10.

Vote Early: St. Joseph County residents can vote early (just once, though, this is not Chicago) at the first floor of the County-City Building or at the County Courthouse building in Mishawaka and avoid standing in line at the polls on election day.

Meditation: Wednesdays, 7:45 a.m., in the STAR classroom. Open to staff and guests.

I Hear the Sound of Distant Drums: If anyone is interested in forming a drum corps please see Juanetta.
