Four New STAR Graduates: William Battice, Kenneth Clay, Jacob Harges, and Isaac Francis Githinji are the newest graduates of the Skilled, Trained, Able, and Ready (STAR) program. The graduation ceremony was April 11 in the Community Room.

“One Step At a Time” Running Group: Three days a week (times and days TBA). Will meet at CFH. Open to Center guests and anyone else who is interested in learning to run. All runners will receive the necessary running gear (i.e. running shoes, shorts, warm-ups, shirts, hats, etc.). There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the basement stairway near the men’s lounge.

Masters Final Round; Trevor Immelman Holds Off Tiger: South African Trevor Immelman was three over par on a cold, windy day at
Woods, who started the day six strokes behind Immelman, had to birdie the last hole to stay at even par for the day. That was good enough to grab sole possession of second place as the other leaders imploded. Woods missed several makeable putts that might have made a difference in the outcome. He finished one stroke ahead of Brandt Snedeker and playing partner Stewart Cink—who also shot a 72.
Snedeker tied Immelman at 10-under after an eagle on the second hole, but had five bogeys and finished with a five-over-par 77. Leaders Steve Flesch and Paul Casey shot 78 and 79 to fall out of contention.
Silver Hawks at River Bandits: The previously winless South Bend Silver Hawks (1-9) took out their frustrations on their hosts, 11-1.
First baseman Michael Mee led the onslaught with three hits and two runs. Shortstop Matthew Oxendine belted out two hits, including a grand slam in the third inning. Evan Frey, Taylor Harbin, and Derrick Walker had two hits apiece.
Hawk starter Joshua Collmenter gave up two hits and one earned run--a home run--in five innings of work to pick up the win. He struck out four and walked one.

Ochoa Qualifies for LPGA Hall: Mexican golfer Lorena Ochoa became the second-youngest qualifier for the LPGA Hall of Fame with an 11-stroke win Sunday at the Corona Championship in
It was Ochoa’s fourth win in five starts this year and third in a row. It was also her second win in three years in front of a friendly crowd in her home country.
Ochoa, who is 26 years, four months, and 29 days, is not eligible for induction until she has been a member of the tour for 10 years--which will be 2012 for her. Karrie Webb was 25 years, seven months, and two days when she qualified for the Hall of Fame in 2000.
