Uncle Ron’s Sports Ramblings

Eventually We’ll Get Back to Sports:
I know what Jessica Simpson fans are going to say (you have to read yesterday’s column to know what I’m talking about): Tony Romo has already found himself a nice Texas girl. Besides, if Jessica is a bimbo (and I’m not saying she is) then what is Tony: a bimbo-monger or a bimbomeister?
It’s true that Jessica has chosen Dolly Parton rather than fellow Texan Dale Evans as a role model. Dolly is the granddaughter of a preacher and Jessica is the daughter of one. Jessica actually intended to pursue a music ministry but was told she was too “hot” to sing gospel.
One difference between Jessica and Dolly is that Dolly got lucky the first time when it came to marriage. She and husband Carl Dean have been married for more than 40 years.
Of course you might remember (its been a few years) that it took Dale more than one try at marriage before she found her King of the Cowboys and became Queen of the West.
Tony will have to win at least one playoff game before they even think about crowning him King of the Cowboys. Besides Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman won Super Bowl and they weren’t crowned King of the Cowboys. Of course Roy (Rogers) was still alive then. Besides if the crown had been available Jerry Jones would have grabbed it.
I suppose the only appropriate way to end this would be to wish everybody happy trails until we meet again and, as always, keep smiling until then.
