Announcements

Car Registration: CFH Guests: If you own a motor vehicle, you need to register it with your coach or it could be towed.
“One Step At a Time” Running Group: Three days a week (times and days TBA). Will meet at CFH. Open to Center guests and anyone else who is interested in learning to run. All runners will receive the necessary running gear (i.e. running shoes, shorts, warm-ups, shirts, hats, etc.).
The Underground Railroad: All CFH guests, volunteers, and staff are invited to be in a play about the Underground Railroad.
We have many parts and need lots of people! We still need more adults.
Practices are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in the Community Room from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
We will perform the play in mid-February.
Come have fun and learn about an inspirational part of American history.

Artistic Newsletter: Are you an artist, poet or writer? Place submissions for the new Artistic Newsletter in Emily Pickerill’s box. Express your talents and ideas by participating. Start submitting as soon as possible.
Art Group: Interested in exercising your creative spirit? Want to see some of your original art work on display in the hallways?

ABE

▪Dead Poets Society:
Thursdays, 3-4 p.m., ABE Room. All are welcome.
We will discuss short stories and poems.
▪Writing: Wednesdays, 3-4 p.m., ABE. Improve your basic writing skills under the guidance of a trained instructor.
▪Creative Writing: Thursdays, 8-9 p.m. Develop your creative writing skills. You don’t have to sign up, just show up. Volunteers from Notre Dame will be there.
All of the above activities count toward ABE hours.

Election 2008

Barack Gets Key Endorsements:
Illinois Senator Barack Obama got some key endorsements this week in his bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination.
Obama was endorsed by Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy; U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), the Senator’s son; and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy and the Senator’s niece.
Obama’s chief rival, New York Senator Hilary Clinton did receive another Kennedy endorsement: Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, eldest daughter of the late New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Edward Kennedy’s niece. Kennedy Townsend was the lieutenant governor of Maryland from 1995-2003 and ran unsuccessfully for Governor of Maryland in 2002.

IUSB Women 54, Judson 47:
Ewa Comans led the host Lady Titans (15-7, 2-1 CCAC) with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a non-conference battle.
Abbey Freeman also contributed 11 points. Jen VanderZanden added 10 points and nine boards.
The Lady Titans travel to Chicago Saturday for a 2 p.m. CCAC matchup with (7, NAIA DI) Robert Morris College (17-2, 2-0 CCAC).
The Titan men host CCAC foe Illinois Tech tonight at 7 p.m.
ND Hockey: Notre Dame senior defenseman Brock Sheahan (Lethbridge, Alb.) and freshman right wing Ben Ryan (Brighton, Mich.) have been selected as the CCHA defenseman of the week and the conference's rookie of the week respectively for their play in a pair of Irish wins against Bowling Green on Jan. 25-26.
