CFH Going Green: Recycling containers have been placed in various locations throughout CFH. The containers are for paper, plastics, glass, and aluminum—anything that’s recyclable.

According to administrative assistant Emily Pickerill, CFH is also looking into using energy-saving light bulbs and appliances.

Police Calling Deaths Suspicious: Police are calling the deaths of William Howell, 49, and Clarissa L. Chism, 28, “suspicious”.

A South Bend homeowner found the bodies on the floor of his garage after returning from vacation.

Police are checking the level of carbon monoxide in the garage.

Police Find Body in Burned Home: Police are trying to identify a body found in a burned home at 1753 W. Prairie Ave. Saturday night.

The home’s primary resident, Christopher Fabyan, 52, has not been seen since the blaze.

No cause has been determined for the fire, but a large quantity of fireworks was found in the home. Firefighters were hindered in battling the fire because of exploding fireworks.

Regis to Host Dance Marathon: The 24-hour “Dance for the Homeless” dance marathon will be April 19-20 at the IUSB Student Activities Center.

There will be live remotes by local radio stations, music by Vyagra Falls, Stillshot, New Collossus, Cornell Bass, Blammo, Livewire, and a special apperarance by Regis Philbin.

Get Your Act Together: Center Idol 2008 will take place April 7 at the Monday night meeting in the community room.

Sign-up will start next week. As in past Center Idols, “Simon”, “Paula”, and “Randy” will be there to judge and critique the acts.

Think You’ve Got What it Takes to Be a Star: Drumming and dancing classes are coming to CFH and you’re invited to participate.

Professional drummers and dancers are coming to offer fun, music, and expertise on the following days: Thursday, March 13, 7:30-9 p.m.; Thursday, March 20, 7:30-9 p.m.; Thursday, March 27, 7:30-9 p.m.; Sunday, March 30, 2-4 p.m.; Thursday, April 10, 7:30-9 p.m.; Sunday, April 20, 2-4 p.m.; Thursday, May 1, 7:30-9 p.m.

Grace U.M. Easter Egg Hunt: Grace United Methodist Church would like to invite you and your children and friends to our public Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 22, out on the lawn (inside if bad weather)!! Bring a basket and enjoy hunting for eggs that the Easter Bunny has left.

Car Registration: CFH Guests: If you own a motor vehicle, you need to register it with your coach or it could be towed.

“One Step At a Time” Running Group: Three days a week (times and days TBA). Will meet at CFH. Open to Center guests and anyone else who is interested in learning to run. All runners will receive the necessary running gear (i.e. running shoes, shorts, warm-ups, shirts, hats, etc.). There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the basement stairway near the men’s lounge.

Artistic Newsletter: Are you an artist, poet or writer? Place submissions for the new Artistic Newsletter in Emily Pickerill’s box. Express your talents and ideas by participating. Start submitting as soon as possible.

Court to Define Second Amendment: A majority of the Supreme Court appeared ready on Tuesday to embrace, for the first time in the country’s history, an interpretation of the Second Amendment that protects the right to own a gun for personal use.

The ruling is in response to a case challenging the District of Columbia’s handgun ban.

“Space Odyssey” Author Dies: Arthur C. Clarke, 90, author of 2001: A Space Odyssey, died this morning in his Colombo, Sri Lanka home.

The English writer, who had lived in Sri Lanka since 1956, had been confined to a wheelchair in recent years due to the effects of post-polio syndrome.

He was a scientist, a philosopher and a prolific author who penned more than 80 books and 500 essays during his lifetime, including fiction and non-fiction. His 1951 short story The Sentinel became the foundation for 2001.

Central Florida Football Player Dies After Drills: Central Florida University redshirt freshman wide receiver Erek Plancher died after Tuesday morning strength and conditioning drills.

Plancher took a knee in obvious distress after the drills. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced dead before noon.

Police said there was no foul play or obvious reason for the 19-year-old Naples, FL. native’s collapse.
