Regis to Host Dance Marathon: The 24-hour “Dance for the Homeless” dance marathon will be April 19-20 at the IUSB Student Activities Center.

There will be live remotes by local radio stations, music by Vyagra Falls, Stillshot, New Collossus, Cornell Bass, Blammo, Livewire, and a special appearance by Regis Philbin.

Get Your Act Together: Center Idol 2008 will take place April 7 at the Monday night meeting in the community room.

Sign-up will start next week. As in past Center Idols, “Simon”, “Paula”, and “Randy” will be there to judge and critique the acts.

Think You’ve Got What it Takes to Be a Star: Drumming and dancing classes are coming to CFH and you’re invited to participate.

Professional drummers and dancers are coming to offer fun, music, and expertise on the following days: Thursday, March 13, 7:30-9 p.m.; Thursday, March 20, 7:30-9 p.m.; Thursday, March 27, 7:30-9 p.m.; Sunday, March 30, 2-4 p.m.; Thursday, April 10, 7:30-9 p.m.; Sunday, April 20, 2-4 p.m.; Thursday, May 1, 7:30-9 p.m.

Classes will be held in the third floor Community Room. See Juanetta for more details.

Car Registration: CFH Guests: If you own a motor vehicle, you need to register it with your coach or it could be towed.

“One Step At a Time” Running Group: Three days a week (times and days TBA). Will meet at CFH. Open to Center guests and anyone else who is interested in learning to run. All runners will receive the necessary running gear (i.e. running shoes, shorts, warm-ups, shirts, hats, etc.). There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board by the basement stairway near the men’s lounge.

Artistic Newsletter: Are you an artist, poet or writer? Place submissions for the new Artistic Newsletter in Emily Pickerill’s box. Express your talents and ideas by participating. Start submitting as soon as possible.

Art Group: Interested in exercising your creative spirit? Want to see some of your original art work on display in the hallways?

VA Hospital Van: To schedule a ride to the VA Hospital in Ft. Wayne, St. Joseph County veterans can call Doug Davis (USMC, retired) at (574) 243-VETS (8387) The van service also provides connecting rides to the VA hospitals in Marion and Indianapolis.

Homeless Veterans: If you are disabled and cannot work full-time (or are over 65), you may be entitled to a disability pension from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

We will discuss short stories and poems.

▪Writing: Wednesdays, 3-4 p.m., ABE. Improve your basic writing skills under the guidance of a trained instructor.

▪Creative Writing: Thursdays, 8-9 p.m. Develop your creative writing skills. You don’t have to sign up, just show up. Volunteers from Notre Dame will be there.

ND Women 75, SMU 62: Ashley Barlow had 20 points, a career-high 12 rebounds, four steals and three assists to lead the Lady Irish in the NCAA tournament opener Sunday.

ND (24-8), the fifth seed in the Oklahoma City regional, will face fourth-seeded Oklahoma Tuesday in the second round.

The game was played in West Lafayette and was only ND’s second ever on Purdue’s home court—both coming this season.

The Irish shot only 40.6% from the floor but outrebounded the Mustangs, 49-26.

SMU (24-9), the Conference USA tournament champs, rallied several times but eventually wore down inside. They narrowed a 17-point deficit to one point with 17:43 left before the Irish started pulling away.

Purdue Women 66, Utah 59: Kalika France and FahKara Malone scored 17 points each to lead Big Ten tournament champion Purdue (19-14) to a win on the Boilermakers’ home court.

The Boilermakers, coached by Sharon Versyp of Mishawaka, will face top-seeded Tennessee in the second round of the Oklahoma City Regional.

No Indiana Teams Left in Men’s NCAA Tournament: The Butler Bulldogs, the last of four Indiana universities in the NCAA men’s tournament, lost a 76-71 overtime decision to Tennessee in second round action Sunday.

Triton High School Wins State 1-A Title: Triton High School defeated Indianapolis Lutheran , 50-42, Saturday, to win the first boys’ state title in the school’s history.

The Triton girls had won back-to-back championships in the 1990’s.

Clintons, Kennedy Townsend to Stop in South Bend: Former President Bill Clinton, daughter Chelsea and former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend will stop in South Bend this morning for Dyngus Day. Kennedy Townsends father, Robert F. Kennedy, Sr., visited South Bend during his 1968 presidential campaign.
