Schedule for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
Monday, Offering of Letters:
Community Room, 8-9 p.m. Writing and mailing letters to officials reminding of the hungry and homeless.
Tuesday, Today’s Youth Discussion Panel: Community Room, 7-8 p.m. Youth from Center for the Homeless and other community organizations. Guest speakers.
Wednesday, “One Night Without a Home Awareness Sleepout”: CFH Courtyard beginning at 7 p.m. with a candlelight vigil. CFH staff members and representatives from other community organizations.
Thursday, “Pursuit of Happyness”: Community Room, 1-4 p.m. Showing of movie with Will Smith and discussion. Based on a true story of a man who went from homelessness to being a millionaire businessman.
Friday, Staff Social: Community Room, 1-2 p.m. Prepare Thanksgiving baskets for former guests in Outreach.
Artistic Newsletter: Are you an artist, poet or writer?
Place submissions for the new Artistic Newsletter in Emily Pickerill’s box. Express your talents and ideas by participating. Start submitting as soon as possible.
Homeless Veterans: If you are disabled and cannot work full-time (or are over 65), you may be entitled to a disability pension from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
