ABE

Academic Fun Fair:
Starting December 3 in ABE.
There will be puzzles, games, interesting projects and exhibits. A new exhibit will be added every day for the first week of December.
Volunteers are needed to set up and work exhibits. See Andrea in ABE.
Poetry Jam: Every Tuesday, 7-8 p.m., Starting Over Room.
∙Read a favorite poem.

▪Just listen, relax and enjoy.
Poetry Jam counts toward your ABE hours.
Creative Writing: Thursdays, 8-9 p.m., Starting Over Room.
Dead Poets Society: Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., ABE Room. All are welcome.
We will discuss short stories and poems. DPS counts toward ABE hours.
Science Club: Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m., Starting Over Room.
Discuss science-related issues in the news and interesting experiments about Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, and more.

NASCAR

Johnson Wins Cup:
Jimmie Johnson finished seventh in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway to clinche a 77-point win over Jeff Gordon in the final Nextel Cup race. It was Johnson’s second consecutive Cup title.
Matt Kenseth won the race with Gordon finishing fourth. South Bend’s David Stremme and Ryan Newman were 11th and 18th, respectively. It was Stremme’s last race in the number 40 car.
The race marked the end of an era in NASCAR. Next year the Cup chase will be sponsored by Sprint and the Car of Tomorrow will be the the car of today.
