Municipal Elections:
Voters go to the polls today in what could be one of the closest municipal elections in years.
South Bend Mayor Steve Luecke is facing a strong challenge from Republican Juan Manigualt. The Democrats have controlled South Bend’s City Hall since the 1960’s.
The Mishawaka race could also be close with incumbent Republican Jeff Rea facing Democrat Mike Hayes in a contest that has turned ugly in the last month. Ha


Three Dead in Argos Identified: Marshall County Police have identified three victims of a apparent murder-suicide as Terry Snedeker, 39; Susan Snedeker, 36; and their 19-year-old daughter, Shayla.
The father apparently shot the mother and daughter, then turned the gun on himself.
A 12-year-old boy, who slept through the killings, found the victims Monday morning.

Elkhart Train Derailment: Approximately 19 train cars carrying 3-thousand gallons of gas derailed this morning near Collins Road south of the St. Joseph River in Elkhart. Fortunately, nothing was spilled.

Steelers 38, Ravens 7:
Ben Roethlisberger threw five touchdowns in the first half, left briefly due to an injury, and then came back for Pittsburgh.
The Steeler defense grabbed four turnovers in front of a home crowd that included Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Mean Joe Greene and other members of the 1970-era “Steel Curtain” defense.
Steve McNair and the Baltimore offense were held to 63 passing yards and 104 total yards.
